Good Morning, Sunshine

I love Portland. I truly do. It's a great place to be young and there isn't anywhere else I'd rather be spending my undergrad years. With that said, the weather sucks. There are times that we go weeks with seeing the sun peak through those dreary grey clouds.

Unfortunately fashion in Portland reflects the vibe of the weather. It feels out of place to wear bright colors amongst the rain and fog. You'll notice I rock neutrals for the majority of the year. I see a lot of bloggers wearing Lilly Pulitzer year-round and just laugh.

This past Friday was one of the first days in a long time that it was really sunny. I don't mean I kinda saw that orange thing in the sky for part of the day. I mean it was actually sunny. The entire morning I complained about it being too bright before I remembered that sunglasses are a thing. For the first time since last summer it appropriate to wear Lilly. In fact I felt obligated to wear Lilly in celebration.

My friend and I grilled some nice steaks on his grill, and it was a really nice break from typical Pacific Northwest weather. Of course the next day it was dark, cold, and rainy again, but hey, at least we had one day to get us excited about the upcoming spring!

Okay, so the pictures don't depict a sunny day so you just have to trust me.
